Ganga -Gomti is the title of my blog because my cooking is the reflection of the cuisine of eastern Uttar-Pradesh.My mom's journey from Ballia to Lucknow is reflected in her cooking and Ballia is a small city situated on the banks of holy river Ganga while Lucknow is the capital city of U.P. situated on the banks of river Gomti. Now I live in Chicago which is on the banks of mighty Lake Michigan, still the influence of Ganga-Gomti cuisine is predominant in my cooking even today!

Chipotle Style Hot Salsa
Chipotle Style Hot Salsa
Salsa of Chipotle is our most favorite. You won't find such kind of taste in even fancy Mexican Restaurants. Though a fast food joint, Chipotle is our most favorite for Mexican food. I tried to copy cat their famous hot salsa here and my son, who is a great foodie, says that it tastes even better with Corn chips!
Ingreients:
Diced Tomatoes Can-16 oz.( You can use Sauce also, but it gets very thick).
Onion-1 small
Green pepper-14-15 ( I use Thai pepper, you can use any hot pepper available to you).
Cilantro-1/4 cup only leaves, no sprig)
Salt
Lime-2 big size
Roasted cumin powder-1 tbsp.
Procedure:
In a pot, pour diced tomatoes and boil them.
Turn off the flame when done and add roughly chopped onion and green peppers.
Cover the lid.
Blend it when cooled.
Now add salt, finely chopped cilantro, roasted cumin powder and juice of lime.
