Kimami Sewai
Kimami Sewai
Kimami Sewai is a rich Awadhi style festive dish that is prepared using sewai, sugar, and mawa. This dessert is slowly roasted on low heat and usually served hot. For this sweet dish, sewai is roasted and ingredients like Phool makhana, khoya, almond, etc are added for garnishing.
This dish is made of thin roasted vermicelli and usually a little time taking, but today I made this in just less than 10 minutes! AND I'm not kidding!
INGREDIENTS:
1.Thin roasted Sewai- broken in small pieces 1 cup
2. Milk-1 cup
3. Sugar- 4 tsp. Or according to taste
4. Burfi or peda-4 I used milk cake
5. Ghee-2 tsp.
6. Green cardamom powder-1 tsp.
7. Nuts of your choice
8. Chandi ka vark (optional)
METHOD:
1. Add ghee in a kadai and also add broken sewai.
2. Roast on low heat till it gets dark without burning.
3. Add milk and let it simmer till sewai turns soft, add more milk if needed.
4. Now add sugar and mithai, also add green cardamom powder and cook on slow flame for about 3 minutes.
5. Garnish and serve hot.
Note: Also add soaked saffron in milk if you like, I skipped it.
