No oil Chole






One dish that I couldn't master was chole! Another try and it turned out fantastic.  I feel like my chole is not perfect,  the perfection I seek is missing. Yet this version inspired by Bharatz kitchen was almost perfect! Easy to cook and eye catching color!

Ingredients:

1. Chole 2 cups
2. Tomato 2 cut into halves
3. Onion 2 semi thick slices 
4. Cinnamon stick-1 
5. Cloves 3
6. Black cardamom 3
7. Bay leaf 3
8. Green chillies 3
9. Salt. 

Add all these ingredients into a pressure cooker and add water just to cover chicken peas or Chole.

Cook on medium low till 4-5 whistles and open the lid when it depressurize. 


Now remove skin from the tomatoes and whole spices. 
Add 1 heaped tsp red chilli powder, 1 heaped tsp coriander powder, 2 tsp chana masala, 1 tsp garam masala, kasoori methi, amchoor powder or pomegranate seeds powder or lemon juice. 

Cook till it boils and turn off the heat, immediately add half tsp. Baking soda and close the lid.
