Mewa Paag

                            Mewa Paag

Janmashtami prasad is incomplete without 5 items...Makhan Misri, Mewa Paag, Panchamrit, Kheer and Mathura ka Peda. These bhog prasadam are served in the temples after the birth of Kanha ji.

Shrikrishna Janmashtami is celebrated in India with much devotion and fanfare. Krishna's birthday is a joyous occasion and various falahari recipes are made during the day. Even the children keep fast sometimes just to devour the yummy treats that are made for bhog! That was how as a child I started keeping fast for festivals like Shrikrishna Janmashtami, Maha Shivratri, Naagpanchami and of course Navratri! Mom used to prepare yummy treats for these festivals and those were such a feasts!
